The OPCServer is a software extension for ObSys, the object system from North Building Technologies.  The OPCServer allows values from over 260 different building systems to be made available as OPC tags within ObServer.  This then allows any connected OPC client on the same IT network to access the programmed Groups & Tags.

The OPCServer comes with a fixed number of 20 Groups, the number of Tags available within the OPCServer will vary depending on the Yeomen Licences available, however there is no fixed limit.  The Groups are totally configurable so as the user can specify the exact amount of Tags per Group.  This allows a Group to be split per building system, for example BMS and Fire, thus not allowing spare tags to be wasted within configured groups.

The OPCServer can run on any standard Windows PC that runs the North BT ObSys platform.  Alternatively the software can also be run from our own industrial integration solution - Communicator.  Communicator is an embedded ObServer platform specifically designed with industrial environments in mind.  The Communicator allows up to 8 serial RS232 connections to the North Building Technologies driver library.
