Blenheim Palace has again been recognised as one of the UK’s leading sustainable visitor attractions, retaining its prestigious Gold Award from Green Tourism

Why Blenheim Palace’s Green Tourism Matters

Tourism and heritage sites face a unique challenge: balancing preservation with modern sustainability expectations. Blenheim Palace’s success proves that even the most historic estates can lead the way in carbon reduction and environmental innovation.

Their Gold Award is actually a blueprint for how organisations can embed sustainability into daily operations, visitor experience and long‑term planning.

Carbon reduction across the built environment

At Tyrrell Systems, we help buildings, from heritage estates to commercial campuses, achieve similar sustainability goals through intelligent building management and automation.

Smart energy management

Our systems provide real‑time monitoring and optimisation of HVAC, lighting, and automation building management. By reducing unnecessary energy consumption, organisations can significantly cut carbon emissions without compromising comfort or performance

Seamless integration for historic sites

Older buildings often rely on legacy systems that are difficult to modernise. Our technology integrates non‑invasively, allowing estates to upgrade their environmental performance while respecting conservation requirements.

Data‑driven sustainability

We deliver actionable insights that support ESG reporting, compliance with sustainability frameworks, and long‑term carbon reduction strategies. Clear data empowers organisations to make informed decisions and track progress with confidence.

From demand‑based ventilation and heating to intelligent scheduling and predictive maintenance, our solutions help organisations reduce waste, improve efficiency, and move closer to their net-zero ambitions.

Let’s build a greener future

Regardless of a building’s age, size or complexity, Blenheim Palace’s achievement is a powerful reminder that sustainability is possible. As more organisations commit to carbon reduction, smart building technology will play an essential role in a greener future.
